Easter 2009

Well, I can tell ya right now we don't have a cute family picture of Easter Sunday. So here are some cute pictures of the kids. And I realized I didn't really take any pictures of Hudson because he was always sleeping or being held...so there are a couple from Sunday evening just chillin' on the couch.

On Saturday, my mom and Aunt Karolyn threw an Easter Party for the kids like they do every year. It was such a nice, pretty day. It was fun watching Preston have his first Easter Egg Hunt. He was so good at finding eggs and he had to shake every egg to make sure something was in it. Then the kids got to color some eggs and play games and eat lots of goodies. Preston had to have his shirt off to color eggs because I was afraid he would get it all over himself. Gentri and I helped him do the first egg, and then gave up. So, my Aunt Coleen helped him color some more(thanks aunt Coleen, he loved it). She would lift the egg out of the cup and ask Preston if it was done and without saying anything he would push it right back down in the dye. Preston also tasted the dye. YUCK!! It was a fun day and I'm so thankful that my wonderful mom and aunt take the time to plan these fun holiday parties for the kids!! Love ya mommy and Aunt Karolyn!! Then after that we headed up to Ryan's parent's house for their Easter party and dinner. The weather had been great in Salt Lake, but when we got to Alpine it was raining. So, the kids had to have their Easter Egg Hunt in the rain, but it was still fun. Preston did good searching for his eggs and was just excited to open them up and eat some candy. Gentri and Harlee were looking for their eggs a little bit longer because their cousins hid them really hard. But they had fun doing it! We ate some yummy dinner and then came home and just rested. It was a great day to just spend time with the family!

On Sunday we were pretty busy. Ryan and I still felt it was a little too soon to take Hudson to church, so just Ryan and the girls went. Preston stayed home to nap because we knew he wouldn't get another chance. Before church the kids found their Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny had hidden for them. Needless to say, they got plenty of candy. Gentri got the Twilight Soundtrack and Harlee got the Hannah Montana Movie Soundtrack and little Preston got a Handy Manny coloring book and big fat crayons. Preston was very excited about his Peeps and didn't really want anything else! We also had pancakes for breakfast and Gentri made them and we tried to dye them pink, ha ha....didn't work out so well, you can't really tell in the picture that they are pink, but they still tasted good. After church we went to a surprise 50th birthday party for one of our family friends. Preston got to hunt for more eggs, and boy did he find a ton(with GiGi(Gentri in Preston talk) and Harlee's help). It was fun to see our friends and visit.
Then we went up to my parents for Easter dinner. We ate ham and lots of other goodies and just visited. It was another nice relaxing day with the family!




It's the girl's Spring Break this week so on Monday we went to go see the Hannah Montana movie. We loved it! I thought it was really cute. I just love Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and of course good 'ol Billy Ray! I hope she stays sweet and doesn't go all crazy/skanky on us!

4 Weeks!!

Time goes by way too fast! Baby Hudson will be 4 weeks old this Saturday. He is already changing and growing so fast! At his 2 week check up he weighed 9lb 2oz!! I couldn't believe it! I looked in Preston's scrapbook and Preston weighed 9lb 2 oz exactly at ONE MONTH! I'm hopin it gets warm fast because Hudson is running out of warm clothes in his size!! He is already wearing clothes that Preston couldn't wear til he was 2 months old. Hudson still falls asleep fast while I'm feeding him, but he is still getting all he needs...obviously. He is such a cute little boy and we love him to death! Preston had a little phase for a couple days where all he did was hit baby brother and push mom's buttons(which was frustrating mom and puttin her in tears), but he is getting better at it and now just always wants to hold and kiss him. Preston is also mommy's 'big helper', he loves to get Hudson's diapers and wipes and mommy's "things"(nursing pads). Ryan and I have noticed that Hudson does cry quite a bit more than Preston did. He has been pretty cranky this last week. I thought it was cuz he's been having some tummy aches, but now I'm thinking he may be a little colicky. Even with the little crying fits, he is still such a good baby and we are so blessed! And he is very much a momma's boy. He loves to be held and sleeps longer if he is being held. Which means mommy pretty much just sits on the couch all day. He is starting to like his bouncy seat more and more, so I do get off the couch occasionally. Hudson makes the cutest little noises when he sleeps...sometimes it's a little loud to where I can't hear the tv...but it's so cute! He also likes to have his hands open and up by his face when he is not all wrapped up. And when he is awake...his eyes are WIDE open just looking around. His hair is also growing fast, just like big brother's. I love both my sweet boys so much!! I don't know what I would do without them!

One of these days I will get a picture of his adorable little smile and dimple, but it's hard to catch on camera.

EESE!

"EESE!! EESE!!" That is "Cheese" in Preston language. This is what he does when I tell him to say 'cheese!'

Sweet Little Ones....

Little Hudson is such a good little baby. I am so lucky once again!! He doesn't quite have all the hair that big brother had, but I still think he looks a lot like Preston. He has a cute little dimple on the left side that my mom is totally in love with. He also has a little dimple in his chin just like his Daddy. He also looks a lot like his daddy as well. Ryan thought at first that Hudson looked a lot like Preston, but as he's getting bigger Ryan is not so sure. (but mommy thinks he still looks like big brother) He sleeps a TON, even while I try to feed him and he only wakes up twice in the night(usually). I can't believe it has already been about two weeks. He is already growing and changing. It goes by too fast!!! He came home from the hospital weighing 6 lb 15 oz and at his one week check up had already gained a pound and was at 7lb 13 oz. and grown half an inch. And I was worried he wasn't eating enough...haha! Mommy is doing good...still alittle tired and naps when both boys are napping. One day I'll get off the couch and actually get dressed and ready for the day...but I think I'm gonna give myself a few more weeks!!

Hudson Orlan Wendel

Here he is!! Hudson Orlan Wendel He arrived March 7th at 1:52 pm, weighing 7 lbs 6 oz and was 19.5 inches long. I went into the hospital at around 9:30 am because I thought my water broke, but when I got there they said it hadnt, but that they would keep me there for an hour to see what happens. Well, about 30 mins later, they tested me again and said it had broken, so they took me up to the delivery room and gave me my epideral and got everything ready. I was only at about a 4 dialated, so I was thinkin it was gonna be a long day...But thanks to my mother, I inherited fast labors from her, it wasnt much longer at all. The doctor came into check me at about 1:00 and I was at an 8. Ten minutes later..... My mom, Ryan and I were all just talking and laughing and I happened to look at the monitor and saw that there was no heart beat for the baby. Yeah scared me to death!!! Right then the doctor came walking in wondering what was wrong. He checked me and said I was completely ready and the baby was coming! After pushing for a little bit, we found out the cord was wrapped pretty tight around the baby's neck...of course that starts to freak me out and make me scared, but he finally came and was just PERFECT! It was so wonderful to be able to hold him right away!! (I wasnt able to with Preston) We hadn't decided on a name, so he didn't have one til about 8:00 that night. Hudson was Ryan's favorite, but not mine, but I found myself talking myself into all the names I liked and Hudson just kept popping into my head. He didnt really look like the names I liked and Hudson just seemed to fit...so daddy was very happy! Orlan is after my wonderful father. My two boys now each have a Grandpa's name for their middle names.

(Not the best pictures....I didn't take hardly any pictures while at the hospital, but my mom did...so as soon as I get those from her, I will post more. That is why there are no pictures of daddy and Hudson...they were taken on my mom's camera)

Big brother Preston was so EXCITED to see his new "didi" (baby)!! We were all worried that he would be jealous and want mommy, but oh no, he wanted his "didi". When we got home, I took Hudson out of the carseat to go sit on the couch so Preston could see him better and hold him and Preston freaked out yelling, "MINE, MINE!" He did not want anybody to hold Hudson other than himself. He is such a big helper and loves his "didi" to death! He is constantly kissing and hugging him. But I do have to say...he is totally starting into his terrible two's and is so extremely loud! My mom said I'm probably just barely noticing because of Hudson...which is probably true, but it just seems worse now. Ryan's family say that Ryan himself was a LOUD little kid, so I'm assuming thats where Preston gets it from!! BUT I do have to say...I am very lucky because Preston is still such a good little boy and continues to make me laugh all day, everyday!

Big sisters, Gentri and Harlee, are also so excited to have their new baby brother finally here! They are such good helpers and love to hold him. I think Harlee could probably sit on the couch ALL day and hold little Hudson. They are both such good help with Preston as well and keep him busy, so that mommy can rest. I'm so blessed to have these two sweet girls!

Update....

So yeah its been a long time. Here is an updated picture of my belly. I feel its HUGE but everyone else thinks its "oh so tiny". I also feel bigger than I did with Preston. The only clothing I feel comfortable in are sweats or pjs. My hubby probably thinks I'm the laziest person ever. Every day he comes home from work, I'm still in my pjs or just some sweats with a shirt making it look like I actually got dressed. I also don't even really do my make-up unless I know I'll be out all day and my hair is always in a pony-tail. It's pretty sad. I only have 5 WEEKS LEFT!!! (unless he is early like Preston, I will be having a kid in about 2 weeks) I'm still pretty scared...not sure why, but I am! I have been extremely tired lately, to the point I cant even keep my eyes open. Preston has been sleeping really well lately and so have I, but when we get up in the morning I end up falling asleep on the couch for another hour or 2 while he just plays and watches some cartoons. I feel so bad because every now and then he'll come and pat me and say "Mommy, mommy, mommy". But it takes all I can to keep my eyes open. I told my doctor at my last appointment and he had me go get some iron pills and I have been taking them, but not much improvement. And now with another baby coming soon, I have a feeling this "tired feeling" will never go away! Just a little update on Preston....he loves to say "Mommy, Mommy". He calls everyone Mommy, even though he said "Dad" before he ever said anything else, but now he won't say Dad and calls Daddy, "Mommy". He also changes it up a bit. Sometimes its "Ma Ma", "mommy", "Mi Mi", or my favorite "Mi Ma". I have noticed he calls me "mi ma" when he is whining. But he never says any of those just once, he constantly repeats them. When Ryan and I are talking to each other, Preston likes to interupt and just keeps saying "Mommy Mommy", until one of us will give him our attention, and then he just sits there and smiles. He is also starting to give some pretty mean dirty looks (i'll have to get a picture). His newest word is "Ine" which means "Mine". He has never really been a kid who gets upset when other kids take his toys or play with them and he still isnt, but the other night his cousin came over and everything Zack would go for Preston would say "Ine, Ine" and give a dirty look, but then he would get over it and play with something else. It's just funny to watch his little face give such a dirty little scowl. Here is Mr. P LOVIN his very own cupcake! He actually ate all of it and not just the frosting. Preston still is obsessed with tractors and loves to watch Daddy outside on ours. I came home from the store one day and this is where I found Preston, just laughing and smiling. Preston was sitting on the trampoline, just watching Daddy and sister Gentri plowing the snow. He was also bouncing himself on the trampoline, but only on his bum. He hates to stand up on it, it scares him to much. (I tried putting a video of him bouncing, but it's not working)
